505 Puddle Plaster™
Roof Puddle-Filler Emulsion
E•las•tek #505 Puddle Plaster™ is a thick, paste-like, black reinforced coating containing plasticized-asphalt emulsion, fiberglass, and a thick, lightweight filler. Puddle Plaster is designed for use as a non-permanent means of reducing the depth of roof depressions thereby reducing the potential for ponding water.
About Puddle Plaster #505:
- Can be used in scupper areas, around drains and valleys, and in low areas expected to trap water. Will not re-emulsify in ponding water. Once cured, this emulsion is hard, durable, and weathers well. See our Ponding Water Problems bulletin.
- Heavy-duty black, reinforced base coating containing asphalt and a special synthetic rubber in an emulsion form with a thick, light-weight filler added. In cases of serious roof water ponding, the elimination of such ponds through proper roofing practice is always preferable to using Puddle Plaster.
- Puddle Plaster should be coated with an E·las·tek top coating to fill any pin-holes and to protect from sun damage. Usually will not discolor white roof coating. May be used over most existing asphalt roofing.
