Acrylic Resin Products
E•las•tek coatings are made from high quality acrylic roof coating resins from the foremost manufacturers. Acrylic resins, the backbone of our coatings, are extremely durable, UV- and weather-resistant. Properly applied, coatings made from these resins can last up to 10 years in the very demanding desert environment.
All of our roof coatings are fully elastomeric, meaning they can stretch and contract with the daily heating and cooling cycle of a roof without splitting or de-laminating over the life of the coating. A summer thunderstorm with hail on a hot day can instantly drop the rooftop temperature 50° causing a sudden contraction in the roof. An E•las•tek elastomeric roof coating would make this adjustment.
Several of our acrylic products contain a small amount of styrene co-polymer. The styrene enhances adhesion to materials such as asphalt emulsion and some metal surfaces. It also increases early water resistance in the coating after application. Acrylics with some styrene co-polymer are the standard for many industrial maintenance paints.
Our acrylic resins are used in the latex form meaning they are created in a water environment. E•las•tek water-based acrylic roof coatings are low VOC products that help reduce air pollution.
